My Renoview Story

Renoview really started pretty simply.

I've always enjoyed renovating. Not just the finished result, but the whole process. The messy middle. The decisions that don't quite go to plan. The small wins along the way.

One thing I kept doing across my own projects was sharing updates with friends and family: before, during, and after photos, usually scattered across messages, folders, or social posts. I always wished there was one place to properly capture that journey.

At the same time, I found myself constantly having the same conversations:

  • asking for advice
  • comparing ideas
  • learning from other people's experiences
  • trying to sense-check decisions before committing

It made me realise how valuable it is to have a space where renovators can talk openly, ask genuine questions, share what worked (and what didn't), and help each other through the process.

The gap I kept running into

Finding good providers was always one of the hardest parts.

Like most people, I'd scroll through social groups, ask for recommendations, and try to piece together whether someone was actually good at what they do. But what I really wanted was simple:

  • What work have they actually done?
  • What does it look like in a real home?
  • What was the experience like working with them?

Renoview is my attempt to make that easier by connecting providers to real projects, real outcomes, and real homeowner feedback.

What this is (and what it isn't)

This isn't a big company or a polished marketplace.

It's a small project I've built myself as a bit of a closet nerd experiment to see if I could bring all of this together in one place.

The goal is pretty simple:

  • Give renovators a place to document their projects properly
  • Create a community where people feel comfortable sharing and asking questions
  • Help surface great providers through actual work, not just ads or profiles

A small ask

I'd genuinely love for this to stay free, but there are some real costs behind the scenes, mainly storing all the photos and videos. If you find it useful, supporting the platform with a small monthly fee helps keep everything running and your project history safe over time.

Help shape it

This is very much a work in progress.

If something doesn't work, feels off, or could be better, I'd really appreciate the feedback and bug reports. And if you're renovating, please jump in and add your projects. The more people share, the more useful this becomes for everyone.

Thanks for being here.
